PRE-CONFERENCE INSTITUTES:

The 2017 MACMHP Conference presents best practices for highly effective organizations - those determined to take their organizations to the next level in today's dynamic health care world. Pre-Conference Institutes include a full day and a half day session option; attendees can attend both. They require a separate registration fee and are not included in your conference registration.

tuesday, september 12, 9:00 am - 4:15 pm

This Pre-Conference Institute will be presented as a two-part series that is encouraged to be taken together.

Presented by: Dr. Carol Kuechler, BA, MSSW, PhD; School of Social Work, St. Catherine University/University of St. Thomas

Developmental Frameworks in Supervision
In this session models for identifying developmental stages in the supervisory relationship will be explored. Participants will address stages of development in the supervisory relationship, including considerations for those stages for both the supervisor and the supervisee.

Multicultural Dimensions of the Supervisory Relationship
Multicultural dimensions in the supervisory relationship contribute both challenges and benefits to the main elements of the supervisory relationship - power and authority, shared understanding about the supervisory contract and approaches to treatment and the trust between the supervisor and supervisee.  In this workshop, we will explore our own standing relative to multiple dimensions of culture and assess the meaning of this standing in the supervisory relationship.

wednesday, september 13, 8:30 - 11:30 am

Presented by: Expert Panel
