Important Information for Presenters

Conference Location & Speaker Registration
• The conference is at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), 350 Harbor Drive.
• Speaker registration is located on the ground level of the DECC, City Side Entrance.

• When you arrive at the DECC, please check in at the presenter registration area to receive
..your name tag, conference details, handouts and any last minute announcements.
• Registration for the conference begins Wednesday, September 21st at 10:00 am. Registration ..continues on Thursday, September 22nd at 7:00 am and Friday, September 23rd at 7:30 am.

Road Construction & Parking

• There is road construction currently in progress on I-35 in Duluth. Traffic impacts include lane ..closures, restrictions, detours and reduced speeds. Please allow extra drive time in to and out

• There is a $4.00 fee per day to park at the DECC. Parking is free at the Holiday Inn.

Handouts

• Handouts are strongly encouraged, participants often comment on how much they appreciate
..it when presenters use handouts, please bring about 50-75 copies. We do not make last
..minute copies at the DECC.
• If you send handouts to be copied, we will have them ready for you to pick up at check-in.

Important Reminders

• If you have any additional AV needs, changes or deletions, call the association office
..at (651) 642-1903. All rooms are equipped with an LCD projector, screen, AV cart, flip chart
..and markers.
• It is very important that presenters who are using PowerPoint presentations and laptop
..computers remember to bring all power and connection cords.
• Past conference participants have requested that presenters repeat questions received from
..the audience. Repeating questions allows everyone to hear and benefit from the answer.

Hotel Accommodations

• A special conference rate of $84 per night is available at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites
..Downtown Waterfront located at 200 West 1st Street in Duluth. All lodging reservations are
..being handled directly through the Holiday Inn at (800) 477-7089 or (218) 722-1202.

• Online lodging reservations are also available via a link on www.macmhp.org/lodging.htm
• The hotel is within walking distance of the DECC (10 minutes) and is connected to the DECC
..via a skywalk.

..visitor information.
• If you made lodging reservations, you will receive a confirmation directly from the Holiday Inn.

Participant Raffle Drawing

• There will be participant drawings during the conference. We encourage your organization
..to participate by donating a raffle item. Suggestions include gift certificates, golf balls,
..clothing, promotional materials with company logo, baseball hats or other. Attach your
..business card to donations so we can recognize your company while choosing a winner.
..Items can be dropped off in the registration area at any time during the conference.

Meal Options

• If you are not purchasing a conference registration package but would like to eat on-site,
..commuter meals must be purchased prior to September 16th. Click Here form.
• Meal tickets will be distributed upon conference check-in.
• Optional Thursday Evening Dinner & Social Activity: there is space available .
