On October 25, 2017, MACMHP, Southside Community Health Services, and Hue-MAN hosted the event: "Community Conversation & Healing: Let's Talk About Mental Health." The event, held at LSS Center for Changing Lives, was a dynamic conversation between community members and community mental health providers on how to offer better serve our diverse communities. [More information on the Community Conversation.]

The key themes of the community conversation were: historical trauma, listening to patient's definition of mental health, community education and the importance of adapting to meet cultural needs. These themes served as the focus of our webinar training. Our presenter shared his knowledge, expertise, and experience as a professional, offering information on how to be culturally aware in your mental health work. This is a recording of the live presentation on November 8.
