2008 Annual Awards Nominations
Our Association has a long tradition of recognizing individuals and organizations who have contributed to the community mental health field. The award categories listed below describe possible areas of excellence and contributions to the field.
Nominations
Please send a written nomination, which includes rationale and supporting documents to explain the contributions of the individual or program to the field. Supporting documents might include: brochures, newsletters, research, memos, work-plans, etc.
Please consider nominating a special program, staff, board members, public officials, colleagues and others who may have had a positive impact on community mental health services.
Awards Ceremony
The awards will be presented at a luncheon ceremony during the
annual conference on Thursday, September 18. Recipients will
be announced prior to the conference date so that they may plan to attend.
The nomination deadline is August 22, 2008

Minnesota Association of Community Mental Health Programs
ANNUAL AWARDS CATEGORIES:
- Program Excellence and Innovation - Design and implementation of unique program models that meet human needs and have potential for further demonstration and replication.
- Community Collaboration and Inter-Agency Cooperation - Partnerships which enable organizations to overcome barriers to service delivery and better meet the needs of people.
- Distinguished Career - Long-lasting contributions to the field which have had solid, significant rippling impact on the community and the broader field.
- Turn-Around - Recognition of successful efforts to turn adversity into opportunity.
- Organizational Operations Excellence - Excellence in program operations and support services, contributions to the field based on creating an organizational system, structure or climate in which staff can do their best work while improving operational efficiency and effectiveness. Areas of recognition include: human resources, management information systems, staff development, risk management and administrative support systems.
- Clinical Service Excellence - Clinical excellence may be demonstrated by consistent, effective, high quality direct service to clients' needs and goals. Includes outpatient, children's mental health services, CSP and residential programs services.
- Public Advocacy and Government Relations Leadership - Leadership in advancing the public policy agenda of community mental health through advocacy and government relations.
- Public Information - Telling the story of mental health and mental health services through public relations, anti-stigma, community education, newsletters, feature articles, etc. (include copies of publications)
Note: All of the above award categories may not be given each year.
